I smoked you like a joint Burnt you to a crisp. Amber waves of grain. I snickered at your lisp. What a cool July night. I'm cowering to your right. Drive slow underneath the lights. You are my Roxanne. On a cross you sit. I slither in a slit. I have become your veins. I see your pitch black secrets. In harmony. We feel release. Said goodbye to your cat. Hope she's at least at peace. One last big lullaby. So go to sleep. It's not a funeral. It's what I need. Slid into a bar that was dark and wet. A nice cool cave to die in. I'll play buck hunter with my companion. And I'll throw up when I get home. Alone. I don't want to be with me. I'm disgusted but I get it. You were my blue heaven. I wrote a few notes. Bought the pen and paper from Walgreens. Wrote it while shaking in my car. Against the steering wheel. Fats domino crooned gently in the background. I thought I'd buy a ring. Yeah I wrote a few notes. You'll never read them. Because you'll never see them.

Kid Cuisine 03:04
Mouth full of your hair. Strands swam between my teeth. Frozen like a TV dinner. I am such an idiot. Walked to my car in silence. July felt like December. And in the form of a text I tried hard to remember. I wasn't your cup of tea. I couldn't be what you need. I was an astronaut. And you were somewhere along the sea. I am a fucking ghost. Hovering over your bed post Can't you feel me? I skipped across the fan blades. After years we will forget. Countless hours swapping spit Smoking weed and getting over it. It's therapy for stupid kids. I still love everyone. I owe you everything. You made my energy, You gave me words to sing.

I left your sweater in the dryer it shrank so small like a puppet or doll it's not that I have nothing left but it's one thing less of things in your chest it's not the best we take what we can get the pieces of you that we kept watched season 1 episode 6 cause I saw you watching it I went to see the evil dead cause that's what you would've wanted I have a few of your possessions left the Simpsons vhs set I know why you left you and your tortured head I know what's left of you: no physical evidence Im not sure what's left of me? you never wanted to see what you were going to be and that's okay with me You decided to flee with a gun by a tree you never can see what became of me

about

All these songs were written by Jebediah Springfield around 2013. Both Andy Torrey and Brian Caffrey played guitar and did vocals, Timmi Sterritt played bass and did vocals, and Gavin Caffrey played drums and did vocals. Hindered by distance, busy schedules, and lack of money, Leave the Bomb Shelter took a frustratingly long amount of time to be recorded, but finally being able to close the chapter on this band was very important to all of us. All the songs were recorded by us on July 9th and 10th of 2016 at Andy's mom's house in Marietta, Georgia. Brian and Andy mixed the songs and Bill Henderson at Azimuth mastered them. This is a documentation of four good friends writing music, acting their age, not acting their age, and watching a lot of The Simpsons.
